Biocon's Board, at its May 8, 2025 meeting, approved audited financial results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025. Consolidated revenue from operations for FY25 grew to Rs. 15,261.7 crore (vs Rs. 14,755.7 crore in FY24), with consolidated net profit at Rs. 1,429.4 crore (vs Rs. 1,297.8 crore) and consolidated EPS of Rs. 8.46 (vs Rs. 8.55). Standalone net profit jumped to Rs. 609.3 crore, mainly driven by a one-time exceptional gain of Rs. 607.5 crore from the sale of Syngene shares in the open market. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 0.50 per equity share (10% on face value of Rs. 5), with record date July 4, 2025 and payment by September 5, 2025. The Board also re-appointed Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai as Independent Director for a second 5-year term, appointed new Secretarial Auditors, and noted the earlier approval (April 23, 2025) to raise up to Rs. 4,500 crore through issuance of securities.
The final dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share is modest, offering limited direct income to shareholders. While consolidated operations showed steady growth, the standalone profit jump is largely a one-time gain from the Syngene stake sale, not from core business. Investors should watch the proposed Rs. 4,500 crore fund raise, as the instrument chosen could lead to equity dilution.
