Birla Cable Limited reported strong financial performance for FY26 with standalone revenue from operations growing 16.5% to Rs 77,111.40 lakhs from Rs 66,165.23 lakhs in FY25. Net profit surged 235% to Rs 1,686.78 lakhs from Rs 503.11 lakhs, while EPS improved to Rs 5.62 from Rs 1.68. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs 1.25 per share (12.50%) for shareholder approval. Operating cash flow turned negative at Rs 2,090.52 lakhs due to increases in trade receivables (Rs 3,262.56 lakhs) and inventories (Rs 2,777.37 lakhs). The company also approved a scheme of amalgamation with Vindhya Telelinks Limited, subject to NCLT and regulatory approvals.
The company showed exceptional profit growth despite moderate revenue growth, indicating improved operational efficiency. However, negative operating cash flow despite positive net profit suggests working capital pressure from rising receivables and inventory buildup. The amalgamation scheme, if approved, will dissolve Birla Cable into Vindhya Telelinks.
