BirlaNu Limited (formerly HIL Limited) reported standalone loss of Rs. 1,404 lakhs for FY26 versus profit of Rs. 5,359 lakhs in FY25. Revenue from operations grew marginally to Rs. 2,42,653 lakhs from Rs. 2,38,958 lakhs. The company posted exceptional items totalling negative Rs. 3,479 lakhs, including a Rs. 7,420 lakhs provision for diminution in value of investment in subsidiary BirlaNu International GmbH, partially offset by Rs. 3,941 lakhs gain on asset sales. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 15 per equity share (150% on face value of Rs. 10) for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the 79th AGM. The company also completed acquisition of Clean Coats Private Limited in November 2025 and saw five subsidiary companies amalgamate with it (effective March 2026).
Despite improved operational revenue, the significant net loss and exceptional provisioning could concern near-term investors. The dividend offer demonstrates management confidence, but its sustainability is uncertain given the loss-making position. The ongoing corporate restructuring through acquisitions and amalgamation may create long-term value but adds near-term complexity.
