Black Box Limited reported Q1 FY26 revenue of INR 1,387 crores, down 3% year-on-year due to client-driven delays in equipment procurement linked to tariff uncertainties. Despite the revenue dip, EBITDA grew 1% to INR 116 crores with margin improving 30 basis points to 8.4%, and profit after tax rose 28% to INR 47 crores. The company booked orders worth $176 million in the quarter, with backlog rising to $518 million from $504 million. Management reiterated its FY26 guidance of $1 billion in order bookings, $700 million exit backlog, and 9-9.2% EBITDA margin, while maintaining the long-term FY29 revenue target of $2 billion. Revenue is expected to accelerate from Q2 FY26 onwards as delayed order conversions flow through, with average lead times now extended to 4-6 months.
Short-term revenue softness may keep stock under pressure, but management's confidence in meeting full-year guidance, strong order pipeline visibility, and continued margin expansion provide a positive medium-term outlook for shareholders. The reaffirmation of the $2 billion FY29 revenue ambition signals sustained growth runway.
