India Ratings has upgraded Can Fin Homes' long-term issuer rating from IND AA+ to IND AAA with a Stable outlook. The upgrade also covers non-convertible debentures of INR 15.38 billion and subordinated debt of INR 2 billion. The upgrade follows RBI lifting its restriction on overlapping business lines between banks and subsidiaries, reducing divestment risk. Ind-Ra now factors in expected liquidity and equity support from parent Canara Bank, which holds 29.99 percent stake. AUM stood at INR 396.57 billion as of Sept 2025 with 8.4 percent YoY growth. Gross stage 3 assets at 0.94 percent and net stage 3 at 0.50 percent show strong asset quality.
Highest credit rating signals strong financial health and parent support, likely lowering future borrowing costs for the company.
