Canara Bank's board approved audited Q4 FY25 and full year FY25 results on May 8, 2025. Standalone Q4 net profit jumped about 33% YoY to Rs 5,002.66 crore from Rs 3,757.23 crore; full year FY25 net profit rose roughly 17% to Rs 17,026.67 crore from Rs 14,554.33 crore. Total income for FY25 grew about 11% to Rs 1,42,207.87 crore. Consolidated FY25 net profit came in at Rs 17,539.62 crore versus Rs 15,278.57 crore. Asset quality improved sharply with Gross NPA falling to 2.94% (from 4.23%) and Net NPA to 0.70% (from 1.27%); Provision Coverage Ratio stands at 92.70%. Capital Adequacy Ratio is healthy at 16.33% under Basel III. The board recommended a dividend of Rs 4 per share (200%) on the post-split face value of Rs 2, subject to shareholder approval. Statutory auditors issued an unmodified opinion.
Strong earnings growth, big improvement in NPAs, a healthy capital position, and a generous 200% dividend are positive for shareholders and signal continued business momentum. The slight dip in operating margin (22.07% vs 23.04%) is a minor watchpoint, but overall results should be viewed favorably.
