On the reaction day the stock moved in line with Nifty 100 and 0.2 pts less than its Public Sector Bank peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Canara Bank has decided to exercise the call option on three Basel III Compliant Additional Tier I (AT1) bonds totaling Rs 4,000 crore. The bonds carry coupon rates of 8.40%, 8.05%, and 8.07% with call option dates of 25.10.2026, 02.12.2026, and 04.03.2027 respectively. The exercise is subject to RBI and other regulatory approvals.
Bondholders will receive principal redemption on call dates. Signals adequate capital position and willingness to replace higher-cost AT1 bonds.
