Carborundum Universal Ltd reported standalone FY2026 revenue of Rs. 3,062 crore (up 8.3% YoY) with net profit of Rs. 416 crore (up 29.4% YoY). Standalone EPS stood at Rs. 21.86. Consolidated revenue was Rs. 5,149 crore (up 6.5% YoY) but net profit fell to Rs. 195 crore (down 33.5% YoY) due to exceptional items totaling Rs. 1,346 crore. These exceptional items include: Rs. 1,041 crore impairment for VAW Russia due to US sanctions restricting operations and fund repatriation; Rs. 1,186 crore write-down for CAAG Germany (being wound down); and Rs. 160 crore write-down for Foskor Zirconia South Africa. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 2.50 per share, taking total FY2026 dividend to Rs. 4.00 per share. Statutory auditors issued unmodified opinions on both standalone and consolidated results. AGM is scheduled for August 7, 2026.
Standalone operations show strong 29% PAT growth driven by all three segments, but consolidated results are significantly impacted by exceptional charges related to underperforming international subsidiaries facing geopolitical challenges. The Rs. 29,711 lakh cash at VAW Russia remains inaccessible due to sanctions, creating going concern uncertainty for that entity. Total dividend of Rs. 4/share provides shareholder returns despite consolidated profit decline.
