Centrum Capital reported consolidated revenue of ₹3,76,297 lakh for FY26, up ~7.7% from ₹3,49,340 lakh in FY25, driven mainly by its Banking Business segment (Unity Small Finance Bank). However, the company swung to a net loss of ₹28,135 lakh (vs loss of ₹14,858 lakh in FY25) as impairment on financial instruments surged to ₹84,932 lakh (vs ₹59,554 lakh), nearly doubling year-on-year. The loss before tax (excluding exceptional items) was ₹(45,416) lakh. Exceptional items of ₹20,104 lakh (mainly ₹22,770 lakh profit on sale of Centrum Housing Finance, partly offset by transaction costs and labour code impact) improved the PBT to ₹(25,312) lakh. The banking business segment reported a loss of ₹30,625 lakh. The company also raised funds via debentures and got shareholder approval for fund-raising up to ₹1,000 crore.
The doubling of loan loss provisions pushed the company into a deeper loss, raising concerns about asset quality in its banking subsidiary. The exceptional gain from the CHFL sale provided accounting relief but does not address underlying operational weakness. Shareholders should watch impairment trends and capital adequacy at Unity Small Finance Bank.
