Centrum Capital's Board approved FY2026 audited results showing consolidated revenue of Rs. 3,763 crore (up 7.7% from Rs. 3,493 crore in FY25), but the company reported a consolidated loss before tax of Rs. 263 crore compared to Rs. 188 crore loss in FY25. Exceptional items of Rs. 201 crore included Rs. 228 crore profit from sale of Centrum Housing Finance Limited (CHFL), partially offset by transaction costs and Centrum Alternatives LLP sale loss. The Banking Business segment was the biggest drag with a loss of Rs. 306 crore for the year. The Board authorized raising up to Rs. 1,000 crore via Non-Convertible Debentures and another Rs. 1,000 crore through securities (rights issue or private placement including QIP). The company also exited its Housing Finance and Centrum Alternatives LLP businesses during the year.
The company is doubling down on capital raising to address its significant losses, particularly in its banking subsidiary Unity Small Finance Bank. Shareholders face dilution risk if the full Rs. 2,000 crore authorization is utilized. Improved EPS to Rs. 0.29 versus loss of Rs. 4.51 last year provides some comfort, but persistent operational losses remain a concern.
