Centum Electronics reported strong Q1 FY26 results. Standalone revenue from operations rose to Rs. 1,788.41 million, up 34.6% YoY from Rs. 1,328.77 million, while standalone profit after tax jumped to Rs. 164.99 million from Rs. 44.96 million (up ~267%). Standalone basic EPS climbed to Rs. 11.22 from Rs. 3.49. On a consolidated basis, revenue grew about 10.5% to Rs. 2,635.05 million, and the company swung to a PAT of Rs. 44.76 million versus a loss of Rs. 38.43 million in the same quarter last year, aided by an exceptional gain of Rs. 17.65 million from reversal of an Ausar Energy provision. Margins expanded meaningfully both standalone and consolidated. Note that overseas subsidiary Centum T&S Group continues to report losses with eroded net worth, though management sees no impairment of its Rs. 1,537.83 million carrying value. QIP proceeds of ~Rs. 2,000 million raised in March 2025 were used to prepay borrowings, with Rs. 850 million still parked in fixed deposits.
Sharp YoY jump in both standalone and consolidated profitability, along with revenue growth and margin expansion, is a positive signal for shareholders. However, ongoing losses in the overseas Centum T&S subsidiary and the high carrying value of that investment remain a key risk to monitor.
