Chalet Hotels has received a favourable Supreme Court judgment on May 26, 2026 regarding land allotment disputes for its Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai hotel. Two Public Interest Litigations had challenged the land allotment by CIDCO to K. Raheja Corp Private Limited (KRCPL). The Bombay High Court had earlier directed restoration of the plot to its original condition and delivery of vacant possession to CIDCO. KRCPL challenged this in the Supreme Court, which has now set aside the Bombay HC order and upheld a regularisation mechanism for the allotment, subject to payment of amounts as determined by the Court.
This is a positive development for Chalet Hotels as the Supreme Court has protected the company's hotel operations at the Navi Mumbai property. The threat of losing vacant possession of the land has been removed, and the company can continue operations under a regularised allotment arrangement.
