Chambal Fertilisers announced its audited financial results for Q4 and the full year ended March 31, 2025, alongside a final dividend recommendation of Rs. 5 per share (50% on the Rs. 10 face value). On a standalone basis, revenue from operations dipped to Rs. 16,646 crore from Rs. 17,966 crore in FY24, but profit after tax grew about 24% to Rs. 1,657 crore versus Rs. 1,331 crore, with EPS rising to Rs. 41.35 from Rs. 32.19. On a consolidated basis, net profit climbed to Rs. 1,649 crore (FY24: Rs. 1,276 crore), aided by a Rs. 131.7 crore share of profit from joint venture IMACID. The board meeting was held on May 8, 2025, and the final dividend is subject to shareholder approval at the next AGM.
A higher dividend than the previous year (around Rs. 4 per share) rewards shareholders and signals management's confidence in cash generation, even as top-line revenue fell. Investors should note the rising dependence on government subsidy policies for urea pricing, which remains a key swing factor for future earnings.
