Chemplast Sanmar reported weak Q1 FY26 results with the company swinging to a loss at both standalone and consolidated levels. Standalone revenue from operations fell to Rs 495.28 crore from Rs 559.82 crore in Q1 FY25 (down ~11.5%), with a loss after tax of Rs 28.42 crore versus Rs 11.16 crore loss in the year-ago quarter; EPS stood at Rs (1.80). On a consolidated basis, revenue dipped to Rs 1,099.90 crore from Rs 1,144.89 crore, while the company posted a loss after tax of Rs 64.25 crore compared to a profit of Rs 23.89 crore a year earlier, with EPS at Rs (4.02). Segment-wise, both Speciality Chemicals (loss Rs 38.20 cr) and Commodity Chemicals (loss Rs 47.99 cr) were in the red. Statutory auditor B S R & Co. LLP issued an unmodified limited review report on both results.
The sharp swing into consolidated loss and revenue decline signal continued margin pressure across both business segments, which is negative for near-term shareholder sentiment. The unqualified auditor review provides some comfort on reporting integrity, but the weak operating performance may weigh on the stock until pricing or demand conditions improve.
