Promoter Himanshu Kanakia, acting as trustee of Vrutant Benefit Trust, has created a new pledge of 4,69,000 equity shares (1.37% of total share capital) of Cineline India on March 27, 2025, in favour of Axis Trustee Service Limited. The reason stated is personal use by the promoter and for providing collateral security. Post this pledge, the promoter's total encumbered holding rises to 29,56,500 shares (8.63% of share capital) out of an overall promoter holding of 30,68,800 shares (8.96%). The amount borrowed against the pledge is Rs. 10 crore, while the value of the pledged shares on the event date was Rs. 3.64 crore, giving a coverage ratio of just 0.364x. Neither the listed company nor any of its group companies are involved in this transaction.
The additional pledge is for the promoter's personal borrowing and is incremental, not a release or invocation. Encumbrance levels stay well below the 20% and 50% thresholds, so no regulatory red flag, but the low share-cover ratio (0.36x) means the loan is significantly under-secured, which retail investors should keep in mind.
