City Union Bank reported its Q2 FY26 results with Net Interest Income of Rs 667 Cr, up 14% YoY, and Profit After Tax of Rs 329 Cr, up 15% YoY. For H1 FY26, total income grew 16% to Rs 3,761 Cr while PAT rose 15% to Rs 635 Cr. Total deposits grew 21% YoY to Rs 69,486 Cr and advances rose 18% to Rs 57,561 Cr. Asset quality improved sharply with Gross NPA falling to 2.42% from 3.54% and Net NPA to 0.90% from 1.62% YoY. Capital adequacy remained strong at 21.68%, ROA at 1.59%, and ROE at 13.15% for H1 FY26. However, NIM slipped slightly to 3.63% from 3.67% and cost-to-income ratio worsened to 49.16% from 47.06%, indicating some margin pressure.
Steady double-digit growth in earnings, deposits, and advances combined with significantly improved asset quality is positive for shareholders, though mild NIM compression and rising cost-to-income ratio are slight watchpoints. Overall a healthy quarter with no negative surprises.
