City Union Bank reported its audited standalone results for FY2025-26, with net profit rising about 18% to Rs. 1,325.23 crore from Rs. 1,123.63 crore in the previous year. Total income grew roughly 17% to Rs. 7,904.55 crore, while operating profit before provisions and contingencies climbed 20% to Rs. 2,014.23 crore. Asset quality improved sharply, with gross NPA ratio falling to 1.91% (from 3.09%) and net NPA to 0.68% (from 1.29%). Capital adequacy ratio under Basel III stood healthy at 23.75%. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 2 per share (200% on face value) and announced bonus shares in a 1:3 ratio, funded out of the Securities Premium account. Joint statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results.
Strong earnings growth, significant improvement in asset quality, a healthy capital ratio, and shareholder rewards via dividend plus bonus issue are positive signals for investors. The 1:3 bonus will increase the share count by ~33%, which typically weighs on short-term price but rewards long-term holders.
