City Union Bank reported Q1 FY26 results with Net Profit of Rs 305.92 crore, up about 15.7% from Rs 264.49 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income rose roughly 17% YoY to Rs 1,849.20 crore, driven by about 15.6% growth in interest earned (Rs 1,605.33 crore). Operating profit before provisions and contingencies jumped around 20.7% YoY to Rs 450.92 crore. Asset quality improved notably, with Gross NPA at 2.99% versus 3.88% YoY and Net NPA at 1.20% versus 1.87% YoY. Basic EPS stood at Rs 4.13 (vs Rs 3.57), and the Capital Adequacy Ratio (Basel III) remained healthy at 23.10%. The joint statutory central auditors issued an unmodified limited review conclusion on the results.
A solid quarter for CUB shareholders — healthy double-digit profit and operating profit growth, materially better asset quality with both gross and net NPAs falling, and a strong capital cushion of over 23%. This should be viewed positively by the market, though revenue growth fell just short of the standout 20% mark and provisions were stepped up to Rs 70 crore.
