CleanMax has raised ~$575 million through a diversified group of domestic and international lenders (Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, SMBC, Credit Agricole, HSBC, DBS Bank, and leading public sector banks) via ECB, FCNR(B), and INR facilities. The funding will support ~1 GW of CTU-connected solar and wind projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka, targeting corporate and industrial customers including large tech firms. The capital structure aligns USD-denominated debt with USD PPAs and INR debt with INR PPAs, with non-INR financing at an interest rate below 6%. CleanMax was recently upgraded to CARE AA-/Stable by CARE Ratings, reflecting its financial strength and growing portfolio.
This financing deal significantly strengthens CleanMax's balance sheet and positions the company to execute large-scale renewable projects for high-growth sectors like data centres and AI. The multi-lender, cross-border structure and strong credit rating signal financial health, which is positive for shareholders and the company's growth trajectory.
