On the reaction day the stock moved 0.6 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.1 pts more than its Oil Gas & Consumable Fuels peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Coal India's Board has given in-principle approval to list its wholly owned subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). This follows a Ministry of Coal directive dated 16.12.2025 asking CIL to take steps to list subsidiaries MCL and SECL in the next financial year. The proposal will be sent to the Ministry of Coal for onward submission to DIPAM. The listing remains subject to completion of various regulatory clearances.
Potential value unlocking from subsidiary listing. Could benefit shareholders once SECL listing receives final regulatory approvals.
