On the reaction day the stock moved 1.3 pts less than Nifty 100 and 0.1 pts less than its Oil Gas & Consumable Fuels peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
H1 FY2026-27 revenue from operations rose 14% to Rs 90,434 crore, EBITDA rose 15% to Rs 20,448 crore and profit after tax rose 19% to Rs 15,397 crore; Q2 profit after tax rose 57% to Rs 6,547 crore. H1 coal output fell 2% to 321 million tonnes, while offtake rose 8% to 384.2 million tonnes. CIL also formed a Singapore unit for overseas acquisitions and is preferred bidder for an Odisha iron-ore block estimated at 288 million tonnes.
Stronger profit and offtake support sentiment, but lower production and slight margin compression may limit near-term stock gains.
