Coastal Roadways Limited's board approved audited financial results for the quarter and year ended 31st March 2025. Revenue from operations for FY25 stood at ₹4,100 lakhs vs ₹3,824 lakhs in FY24 (about 7% growth), while net profit was nearly flat at ₹204 lakhs vs ₹208 lakhs. EPS improved to ₹4.15 from ₹3.50. The company also restated comparative figures for FY24 due to a prior-period error in classification and fair valuation of mutual fund investments under Ind AS 8; this affected multiple quarters from Q1 FY24 through Q3 FY25 but is non-cash in nature and does not impact operating cash flows. Statutory auditor M/s Patanjali & Co. issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the annual results, and gains from sale of immovable properties were reported as extra-ordinary items.
Shareholders get a clean auditor opinion which is reassuring, but the restatement of FY24 figures due to a mutual fund valuation error, even though non-cash, points to past weaknesses in financial reporting controls and warrants monitoring. FY25 earnings were essentially flat despite revenue growth, so the restated numbers will be the new baseline for future comparisons.
