Coastal Roadways Ltd reported H1 FY26 (Apr-Sep 2025) revenue from operations of Rs 20.43 crore, up modestly from Rs 19.83 crore in H1 FY25 (restated). Other income fell sharply to Rs 48 lakh vs Rs 1.20 crore restated, as prior period mutual fund fair value gains are no longer comparable. Profit before tax came in at Rs 1.33 crore vs Rs 1.59 crore restated, and profit after tax dropped about 34% to Rs 88 lakh from Rs 1.33 crore (restated) in H1 FY25. The company also restated comparative figures for Q2 FY25 and H1 FY25 after correcting a prior period error where fair value changes on mutual fund investments (classified as FVTPL) and related deferred tax were not recognised earlier. The correction is non-cash and does not affect operating cash flows.
Profitability took a meaningful hit in H1 FY26 even as topline held flat, which may weigh on the stock despite revenue stability. The restatement is non-cash and audit-compliant, but investors should note the prior period error and reduced earnings quality compared to originally reported numbers.
