Contil India Ltd reported a strong FY25 with revenue from operations rising to Rs 32.57 crore from Rs 28.24 crore in FY24, a growth of about 15%. Net profit jumped sharply to Rs 2.53 crore from Rs 1.41 crore, nearly 80% higher year-on-year. Operating profit before tax climbed to Rs 3.35 crore versus Rs 1.99 crore, indicating meaningful margin expansion. The auditor P. Indrajit & Associates issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results. The company is mainly in the merchant export trading business. However, despite higher profits, net cash from operating activities turned negative at Rs (26.47 lakh) due to higher tax payments of Rs 73.46 lakh versus cash generated of Rs 46.99 lakh from operations.
Positive for shareholders given the sharp jump in annual profits and improving margins, though the negative operating cash flow is a yellow flag worth monitoring. The clean auditor opinion supports credibility of the numbers.
