Crompton Greaves faced a GST demand of about 3.34 crore rupees (tax 1.57 crore, interest 1.61 crore, penalty 15.7 lakh) for FY 2019-20 on a mismatch between input tax credit claimed in GSTR 3B and that appearing in GSTR 2A. The Commissioner (Appeals) has partially upheld the original order dated December 11, 2025. The company plans to appeal further under Section 112 of the SGST Act and expects a favourable outcome. Management states there is no material impact on financials or other operations.
Partial loss at GST appeal stage; impact of about 3.34 crore rupees flagged as not material. Further appeal planned.
