D.P. Abhushan, a Central India jewellery retailer with 11 showrooms, reported Q1FY26 revenue of ₹541.32 Cr, up 7% year-on-year but down 25% sequentially. Despite the modest top-line growth, profitability surged — EBITDA rose 44% YoY to ₹55.25 Cr and net profit grew 45% YoY to ₹36.42 Cr. EBITDA margin expanded by 262 basis points YoY to 10.21%, driven by better product mix, operational efficiencies, and cost discipline. The company also opened a second showroom in Ratlam spanning 15,000 sq.ft., and plans to raise up to ₹600 Cr via the QIP route to fund further retail expansion. Management noted that elevated gold prices dampened volumes, but wedding-season demand and strong Tier-2 brand loyalty cushioned performance.
Sharp margin expansion and strong profit growth despite a soft revenue print are positive signals of operational leverage and pricing power, likely to be well-received by investors. The QIP fundraise of up to ₹600 Cr signals aggressive expansion plans but may lead to dilution in the near term.
