Dai-Ichi Karkaria reported strong revenue growth for FY25, with standalone revenue from operations rising to Rs 18,138 lakhs from Rs 13,158 lakhs in FY24, an increase of about 38%. Profit before exceptional items swung from a loss of Rs 221 lakhs to a profit of Rs 694 lakhs, reflecting improved core operations. However, standalone profit after tax fell to Rs 618 lakhs from Rs 1,592 lakhs because the previous year included a one-time Rs 2,058 lakh insurance settlement from the 2020 Dahej factory fire. Q4 saw revenue of Rs 7,006 lakhs versus Rs 3,340 lakhs year-on-year. The Board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 3.5 per share, up from Rs 2 per share last year, and the auditor B S R & Co. LLP issued a clean (unmodified) opinion.
Strong top-line growth and recovery in core profitability are positive signals, but lower headline PAT due to the absence of last year's large exceptional insurance gain may temper near-term excitement. The 75% hike in dividend and clean audit opinion are supportive for shareholders.
