Dalmia Bharat's wholly owned subsidiary Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL) won an appeal against an earlier GST demand related to delays in filing GSTR-3B returns for July and November 2017 by the now-merged Dalmia Cement East Limited. The Additional Commissioner of State Tax (Appeal), Dhanbad, has fully waived off the interest of Rs. 4,89,008 and penalty of Rs. 75,000 that were originally confirmed by the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Bokaro, on May 20, 2024. The order was received on August 7, 2025. As a result, there is no financial impact on DCBL or on Dalmia Bharat. This is a routine, small-value tax matter from FY2018 that has been resolved in the company's favour on appeal.
Positive but minor — the company successfully overturned a prior tax demand, meaning no out-of-pocket loss. The amounts involved (under Rs. 6 lakh total) are immaterial to Dalmia Bharat's overall financials, so this should not move the stock price.
