The board declared an interim dividend of Rs 4 per share, 200% of face value, totalling Rs 62.38 crore. The record date is October 30, with payment due within 30 days. Consolidated September-quarter revenue rose 21% to Rs 4,150.79 crore, but profit after tax fell to Rs 104.60 crore from Rs 158.72 crore. Half-year profit rose to Rs 796.77 crore, aided by tax reversals. Planned investments total up to Rs 375 crore.
The dividend may support investor interest, but weaker quarterly profit and Rs 375 crore of planned spending could weigh on near-term sentiment.
