Maharashtra tax authorities ordered wholly owned subsidiary Mahadhan AgriTech to pay Rs. 28.79 crore for July 2017 to March 2018. This includes Rs. 12.94 crore tax, Rs. 14.56 crore interest and Rs. 1.29 crore penalty over GST credit claimed in GSTR-3B. The subsidiary disputes the demand and plans a further appeal.
The company expects no material impact, but the demand creates cash-flow risk until it is resolved through appeal.
