DEN Networks reported Q1 FY27 standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 2,569.63 million, up about 4.6% year-on-year from Rs. 2,456.06 million, but other income fell sharply from Rs. 694.78 million to Rs. 537.82 million. Standalone profit after tax dropped to Rs. 329.18 million from Rs. 508.16 million a year earlier, a decline of roughly 35%, with EPS at Rs. 0.69 vs Rs. 1.07. On a consolidated basis, revenue was nearly flat at Rs. 2,427.74 million, while consolidated PAT fell to Rs. 345.89 million from Rs. 536.40 million, with EPS at Rs. 0.77 vs Rs. 1.14. Segment results show both cable distribution and broadband segments posting losses before other income, indicating core operating pressure despite top-line stability. Auditor Chaturvedi & Shah LLP issued an unqualified review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
Sharp drop in profitability despite modest revenue growth is a negative signal for near-term sentiment, as expenses (especially content cost) rose faster than revenue and other income contracted. Shareholders should watch for margin recovery in coming quarters; weak segment-level operating performance may pressure the stock in the short term.
