Dhampur Sugar Mills has completed its buyback of 10,81,081 equity shares (face value Rs. 10) at a price of Rs. 185 per share, totalling roughly Rs. 20 crore. The tendering period ran from May 29, 2025 to June 4, 2025, and the shares were formally extinguished on June 17, 2025. Post-buyback, the paid-up share capital has reduced from 6,53,87,590 to 6,43,06,509 shares. Promoter holding has slightly increased to 49.84% from 49.10% on a post-buyback basis, while public shareholding has come down to 50.16%.
The reduction in share count is mildly positive for existing shareholders as it lowers the total share base, potentially improving earnings per share. The extinguishment of shares at Rs. 185 per share is a return of capital to shareholders who tendered, and the marginally higher promoter holding signals continued promoter confidence in the company.
