Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited's promoters — GSEC Limited and Monarch Infraparks Private Limited — have together sold 3,15,00,000 equity shares (5.98% of total paid-up capital) through an Offer for Sale on the stock exchanges on June 4-5, 2025. As a result, promoter holding in the company dropped from 90.00% to 84.02%, while public shareholding rose from 10.00% to 15.98%. The sale is part of the company's plan to achieve the SEBI-mandated minimum public shareholding of 25% by September 2025. The promoters each sold 1,57,50,000 shares, and the total post-sale promoter shareholding stands at 44,27,73,950 shares. This means another ~9% promoter stake needs to be offloaded over the next few months to hit the 25% public float threshold.
This increases the stock's free float and trading liquidity, which is positive for retail participation in the long run. However, the overhang of further promoter sales (about 9% more needed to reach 25% public holding) could weigh on the stock in the near term.
