Digicontent Limited informed that its wholly-owned subsidiary HT Digital Streams Limited (HTDS) has approved a buyback of up to 29,26,820 equity shares, which is 25% of HTDS's total share capital. The buyback price is fixed at Rs. 87.68 per share on a face value of Rs. 10 each. Since HTDS is fully owned by Digicontent, this buyback does not change the parent company's shareholding pattern in the subsidiary. The decision was taken by the board of HTDS on 28th September 2026.
There is no direct impact on Digicontent shareholders as the buyback is at the subsidiary level and ownership remains wholly intact. Indirectly, this signals that the subsidiary may have surplus cash and confidence in its valuation, which could be mildly positive for the parent company's perceived value.
