McNally Bharat Engineering Company has received a notice from the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Ranchi, on 11th December 2025 under Sections 14B and 7Q of the EPF & MP Act, 1952. The company has been directed to deposit an assessed amount of Rs. 9.60 crores. The matter reportedly originated during the period when the company was under the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP). The new promoter, who has since taken over, says regulatory gaps from the CIRP tenure are being identified and addressed systematically, and this notice is one of them. The company plans to first engage with PF authorities to resolve the issue, and if no shortcomings are found on its part, it will pursue legal remedies, including appeal to higher authorities.
This is a potential financial liability of Rs. 9.60 crores that could weigh on the company if not resolved. However, since the issue is being contested and originated during the insolvency resolution period, near-term impact on shareholders may be limited until the matter is resolved through dialogue or legal proceedings.
