Duncan Engineering reported its Q1 FY26 results with revenue from operations at Rs. 1,400.64 lakhs, down about 11% from Rs. 1,579.20 lakhs in Q1 FY25. However, profitability improved sharply, with profit before tax rising to Rs. 162.91 lakhs (up ~51% YoY from Rs. 107.72 lakhs) and profit after tax at Rs. 124.03 lakhs versus Rs. 78.80 lakhs last year, a growth of around 57%. EPS stood at Rs. 3.36 compared to Rs. 2.13 in the same quarter last year. The statutory auditor S S Kothari Mehta & Company LLP issued an unmodified (clean) limited review opinion on the results. The company operates in a single segment of General Engineering Products.
Despite a YoY revenue decline, strong bottom-line growth and margin expansion suggest better operational efficiency, which is a positive signal for shareholders. The clean auditor opinion adds comfort, though investors may want to watch whether the revenue weakness continues.
