Dwarikesh Sugar Industries' Board, at its May 22, 2025 meeting, recommended a final dividend of Rs. 0.50 per equity share (50% on Re. 1 face value) for FY25, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM on August 19, 2025. The record date is set for August 12, 2025. The company also approved audited FY25 results with an unmodified auditor opinion — revenue from operations fell to Rs. 1,35,888 lakhs (down from Rs. 1,70,957 lakhs in FY24), and net profit dropped sharply to Rs. 2,334 lakhs from Rs. 8,352 lakhs, translating to an EPS of Rs. 1.26 vs Rs. 4.44. The Board also appointed VKM & Associates as secretarial auditor for five years and three new directors, including promoter family member Ms. Priyanka G. Morarka as Executive Director.
The 50% dividend on a Re. 1 face value (just Rs. 0.50 per share) is a token payout that offers little yield support, while the steep fall in revenue and profit points to a tough year for the sugar business. Shareholders may find the dividend underwhelming given the sharp earnings decline, and the appointment of a promoter family director may draw governance attention.
