Edelweiss Financial Services' board approved audited consolidated and standalone results for FY25 with an unmodified (clean) auditor's opinion. Consolidated profit before tax jumped 83% YoY to ₹802 Cr, while consolidated PAT rose modestly to ₹536 Cr from ₹528 Cr. Total consolidated income was nearly flat at ₹9,519 Cr versus ₹9,602 Cr last year. The board recommended a dividend of ₹1.50 per equity share. Consolidated net debt fell 27% YoY and the wholesale loan book was cut by 40% to ₹2,500 Cr. On the standalone level, the holding company swung to a loss of ₹52 Cr from a profit of ₹695 Cr. Mr. Venkatchalam Ramaswamy transitioned to Vice Chairman & Non-Executive Director after taking over as MD & CEO of subsidiary EAAA. SVVS & Associates was appointed as Secretarial Auditor for 5 years.
The 83% PBT growth, dividend announcement, sharp debt reduction and clean audit are positive signals for shareholders. However, muted PAT growth (just 1.5%), a decline in Q4 standalone profit, and a loss at the standalone holding-company level may temper enthusiasm. Overall tone is constructive with focus on deleveraging and a path to insurance break-even by FY27.
