The Board of Edelweiss Financial Services, at its May 14, 2025 meeting, recommended a final dividend of Rs. 1.50 per equity share (on Rs. 1 face value), pending shareholder approval at the AGM. The company reported strong FY25 audited results with consolidated Profit Before Tax of Rs. 802 Cr, up 83% YoY, and ex-insurance PAT of Rs. 545 Cr. Consolidated revenue stood at Rs. 9,519 Cr while basic EPS rose to Rs. 5.89 from Rs. 4.68 in the previous year. The consolidated net debt was reduced by 27% YoY (Rs. 4,170 Cr cut) to a net worth of Rs. 5,918 Cr, reflecting balance sheet strengthening. Mr. Venkatchalam Ramaswamy transitioned from Executive Director to Vice Chairman & Non-Executive Director, having taken up MD & CEO role at wholly-owned subsidiary EAAA India Alternatives. The customer base crossed 10 million, growing 36% YoY, while key businesses like EAAA alternatives and Mutual Fund saw profitability grow 31% and 40% respectively.
The 83% jump in PBT and 27% reduction in net debt signal strengthening fundamentals, though the modest Rs. 1.50 dividend payout (subject to AGM approval) indicates conservative cash distribution. The leadership transition at EAAA subsidiary is noteworthy given management's stated intent to list EAAA, which could be a future value-unlocking catalyst for shareholders.
