On the reaction day the stock moved 1.6 pts more than Nifty Microcap 250 and 1.3 pts more than its Specialty Chemicals peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Shareholders of Fairchem Organics have approved a buyback of up to 4,25,000 equity shares (3.26 percent of paid-up capital) at Rs 800 per share through postal ballot. The total buyback size is capped at Rs 3,400 lakhs (about Rs 34 crore). The offer price is at a premium of 12.85 to 16.60 percent over recent volume weighted average prices on BSE and NSE. The buyback will be done through the tender offer route via stock exchanges, with 15 percent reserved for small shareholders. A record date will be announced later.
Positive for shareholders as the buyback price offers a premium of 13 to 17 percent over recent market prices, reduces share count and may lift earnings per share.
