The Federal Bank posted strong Q2FY27 results with standalone net profit up around 41% YoY to about Rs 1,346 crore from Rs 955 crore. Total income grew to Rs 9,211 crore. Gross NPAs fell to 1.32% from 1.83%, net NPAs to 0.11% from 0.48%. Capital adequacy stayed healthy at 16.84%. New joint statutory auditors Price Waterhouse and K.S. Aiyar reviewed these numbers, replacing the previous auditors who had reviewed Q1FY27, indicating a mid-year auditor change.
Strong profit growth and improving asset quality are positives. The mid-year switch of statutory auditors to PW and K.S. Aiyar may draw investor attention and scrutiny.
