Girnar Spintex Industries (formerly Amit Spinning Industries) reported a sharp turnaround in Q2 FY26, swinging from a loss of ₹143.11 lacs in Q2 FY25 to a profit of ₹385.41 lacs. Revenue from operations rose modestly to ₹2,694.32 lacs (vs ₹2,584.76 lacs YoY), but total revenue jumped to ₹3,179.17 lacs largely due to a one-time profit of around ₹530 lacs on sale of fixed assets booked under 'Other Income'. For H1 FY26, revenue from operations grew to ₹5,160.16 lacs (vs ₹4,585.30 lacs) with a profit of ₹351.05 lacs versus a loss of ₹218.61 lacs last year. The company reduced both long-term and short-term borrowings and generated healthy operating cash flow of ₹795.89 lacs in H1 FY26. EPS for the quarter stood at ₹14.04 versus negative ₹5.21 a year ago.
The return to profitability and reduction in debt signal improving financial health, but investors should note that a large share of the H1 profit came from a one-off asset sale, so underlying core earnings remain thin. Stock could see short-term positive sentiment, though sustainability of margins is the key question.
