Fino Payments Bank swung to a net loss of 1,372 lakhs in Q1 FY27 from a profit of 1,776 lakhs a year ago. Total income fell 32% to 30,687 lakhs, driven by a 40% drop in other income from BC banking and digital payments. Interest income grew 18% to 7,223 lakhs. Capital adequacy remains strong at 82.58%. EPS turned negative at minus 1.65. MD and CEO Rishi Gupta retired in May 2026; Ketan Merchant is interim CEO. RBI has given in-principle approval for transition to Small Finance Bank.
Weak quarter with loss and steep revenue decline, but strong capital adequacy and Small Finance Bank transition support long-term outlook. Near-term pressure likely.
