Fortis Healthcare reported strong Q1 FY26 standalone results with revenue from operations rising about 30% year-on-year to Rs 43,303 lacs, up from Rs 33,340 lacs in Q1 FY25. Total income grew to Rs 47,304 lacs and net profit jumped nearly 93% YoY to Rs 5,188 lacs, helped by a Rs 1,688 lacs exceptional gain from reversal of impairment in subsidiary companies. EBITDA rose to Rs 12,812 lacs from Rs 9,337 lacs, with operating profit margin expanding to 20.35% from 17.38% a year ago. EPS stood at Rs 0.69 vs Rs 0.36 in the year-ago quarter. The board also appointed B S R & Co. LLP as Tax Auditors for FY 2024-25. The statutory auditor issued an unmodified limited review report but flagged ongoing SFIO investigation, Supreme Court matters relating to RHT Health Trust, and historical transactions involving the erstwhile promoters as emphasis of matter.
Sharp revenue and profit growth, margin expansion, and a positive exceptional item should be supportive for the stock in the near term, though investors should note that legacy legal and investigative matters (SFIO, EOW, brand-related cases) remain unresolved and continue to be disclosed as emphasis-of-matter items.
