On the reaction day the stock moved 4.4 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and 3.8 pts less than its Hospital peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Fortis Healthcare's promoter NTK (an indirect subsidiary of IHH Healthcare) has filed an appeal at the Tokyo High Court against the September 10, 2026 judgment from the Tokyo District Court in its case against Daiichi Sankyo. NTK concluded the ruling warrants appellate review. IHH claims it suffered losses from delays in obtaining approvals for its 2018 Fortis acquisition tied to the Daiichi Sankyo dispute. IHH reaffirmed plans to raise its Fortis stake to 51 percent over three to five years and expand capacity to about 10,000 beds by 2031.
Appeal extends legal uncertainty for promoter IHH but no direct hit to Fortis operations. IHH signals deeper long-term commitment and stake hike to 51 percent.
