Galaxy Surfactants reported audited standalone revenue of Rs 3,589 Cr (up ~19.6% YoY) and consolidated revenue of Rs 5,248 Cr (up ~24.2% YoY). However standalone PAT fell to Rs 152 Cr from Rs 173.8 Cr (down ~12.5%) and consolidated PAT fell to Rs 267.4 Cr from Rs 304.9 Cr (down ~12.3%), driven by higher raw material costs, increased finance costs (Rs 27.6 Cr standalone vs Rs 16.6 Cr prior year), and an exceptional charge of Rs 11.88 Cr due to new labour code implementation (gratuity + leave encashment). Auditors Deloitte Haskins & Sells issued unmodified opinions on both standalone and consolidated results. Board recommended final dividend of Rs 22 per share (220% on face value Rs 10). An emphasis of matter was noted regarding a Gujarat land dispute (GIDC notice, carrying value Rs 72.88 Cr) where the company obtained an interim stay.
Revenue grew strongly (~24% consolidated) but profit declined ~12% due to cost pressures and one-time labour code charge. The unmodified audit opinion and GIDC land dispute (subjudice) are key watch items for investors.
