Gallantt Ispat, a steel and allied products manufacturer, reported its Q1 FY26 results. Revenue from operations fell to Rs. 1,127.78 crore from Rs. 1,159.69 crore in Q1 FY25, a YoY decline of about 2.75%. Despite weaker top line, net profit jumped to Rs. 173.79 crore from Rs. 121.87 crore, a growth of around 42.6%. Total expenses came down to Rs. 918.23 crore from Rs. 981.51 crore, which lifted operating margins meaningfully. EPS stood at Rs. 7.20 versus Rs. 5.05 in the same quarter last year. Statutory auditor M/s Maroti & Associates issued an unmodified (clean) review report on both standalone and consolidated numbers.
The strong profit growth on a softer revenue base signals improved efficiency and lower input costs, which is positive for shareholders. Margins expanding while sales dipped could draw attention from investors looking at profitability rather than top-line growth.
