Geekay Wires, a Hyderabad-based manufacturer of galvanized steel wire, wire products, collated nails, and stainless steel nuts & bolts, reported its Q1 FY26 results. Revenue from operations fell sharply to Rs 91.74 crore from Rs 124.03 crore in Q1 FY25, a drop of about 26% year-on-year. However, profit after tax was largely flat at Rs 7.19 crore versus Rs 7.37 crore, while profit before tax actually rose to Rs 9.61 crore from Rs 8.96 crore. Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 99.06 crore. For reference, full-year FY25 revenue from operations was Rs 458.31 crore with a PAT of Rs 36.23 crore and EPS of Rs 6.93. The company's standalone balance sheet shows total assets of Rs 290.95 crore and total equity of Rs 151.97 crore, with borrowings of Rs 39.34 crore. The auditor (M.M. Palod & Co.) issued an unqualified limited review report.
The sharp revenue decline despite stable profits suggests margin expansion through better cost control or a favourable product mix, which is a positive operational signal. However, the steep top-line fall may concern investors about demand or pricing pressure, and could weigh on the stock in the short term.
