GIC Re reported strong annual performance with gross premium income of ₹44,006.74 crore, up 6.93% year-on-year. Profit after tax surged 25.23% to ₹8,392.18 crore while profit before tax rose 23.13% to ₹10,793.25 crore. The company significantly reduced its underwriting loss by 47.40% to ₹1,763 crore despite still being in loss position. Combined ratio improved to 106.02% from 108.81%, indicating better operational efficiency. Solvency ratio strengthened to 4.21 from 3.70, well above regulatory minimum. Investment income grew modestly to ₹13,089.34 crore from ₹12,772.52 crore. Domestic business contributed 75% of premiums while international grew at a slower pace.
