GIC Re reported strong FY2025-26 results with Gross Premium Written of Rs. 44,00,674 Lakhs, up 6.9% from Rs. 41,15,395 Lakhs in FY2024-25. Net Premium Written grew 7.2% to Rs. 40,57,125 Lakhs. Profit After Tax surged 25.2% to Rs. 8,39,218 Lakhs from Rs. 6,70,136 Lakhs, with EPS improving from Rs. 38.20 to Rs. 47.84. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 13.25 per share (265%) for FY2025-26, up from Rs. 10 per share in the previous year. Solvency ratio improved to 4.21 from 3.70, while Combined Ratio improved to 106.02 from 108.81. Joint statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. The Dubai branch is in run-off with a portfolio transfer agreement in progress and is not considered a going concern.
Strong profitability growth with 25% PAT increase and improved solvency position should be positive for shareholders. The increased dividend signals confidence in financial health. However, negative operating cash flow of Rs. 65,317 Lakhs may warrant monitoring.
